The Carle Honors 2018

Last week, we celebrated the 13th Annual Carle Honors in New York City. I was delighted to be there with this year's wonderful honorees! And it was a lot of fun to introduce the Funkrust Brass band and listen to their magnificent music surrounding us all and making our hearts light up!

Thank you to the band and to the Museum staff who make it all happen every year.

Here are this year's honorees, from left to right, Lynn Caponera and Dona Ann McAdams from the Sendak Fellowship & Workshop, Dr. Rudine Sims Bishop, Paul O. Zelinsky, and Elena Pasoli from the Bologna Children's Book Fair. Congratulations to all!

The Very Hungry Caterpillar turns 50

Dear Friends,
There is a new exhibit at The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art and I'm so glad I was able to see it!
Perhaps you would like to see it, too?
Thank you for all of your love,
Eric Carle

Mister Rogers' Neighborhood

This week is the 50th anniversary of Mister Rogers' neighborhood which first aired in February, 1968. I am remembering Fred Rogers' visit to my studio in Massachusetts to film a segment for his show. Thank you, Mister Rogers, for all of your kindness and good work. We are so fortunate for all that you gave to the world.

You can find the video of us reading my book From Head to Toe together on Mister Rogers' Neighborhood under "Field Trips" here.
