I am delighted to share these photos from a recent installation currently open to the public in Korea that has been set up in conjunction with The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art.
The installation is an art-making and reading program that will be followed by an exhibit of my work opening in Korea in April, 2012. It is very meaningful for me to know that my work is enjoyed in different countries around the world.
Hello, Mr. Carle. I am a Korean mother of two girls: five-year old and one year old. We have been in English Art Studio in Korea. It was so lovely and cozy place to play around and read books. My daughters and I are big fans of you. We had wonderful experience (even though there were placed few art works). Someday we wish to visit your own art studio. Thank you very much for your considerations. We love you and your arts.
The Very Hungry Caterpillar is one of the more than 70 picture books that I have written and/or illustrated. I was born in the U.S. and was raised in Germany. My background is in graphic design but since the late 1960's when I illustrated Bill Martin Jr's Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? I have been creating books for children. My illustrations are collages made with my own hand-painted tissue papers, a technique many children have replicated and enjoyed in their classrooms and at home. With my late wife Barbara, I am also the cofounder of The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art in Amherst, MA.
Oh how wonderful Mr. Carle!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing and .... congratulations! :O)
