Old Friends

I created illustrations for these books in the 1960's before I had started making books for children. These “gift” books were done as work-for-hire and in linoleum cuts. I still appreciate these older works for their simple design.

  6. Just watched Mister Rogers with my 3 1/2 year old - she loved watching you on it and we talked about our favorites - The Very Busy Spider, of course The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Brown Bear Brown Bear. We have so many of your books and they are her favorite choices at bedtime. Thank you for work - what a wonderful lasting legacy you have left future generations.

  7. Thank you again Mr. Carle for sharing bits of your life with us! This has become a valuable resource for inspiration. In the middle of my life I've gone back to school to become an art teacher.

This is a Very Hungry Caterpillar Party that I designed and threw for my son last October. It has been featured numerous times throughout this year on different blogs and websites and I thought that Mr. Carle might enjoy it himself. Thank you for your time and inspiration. Corey Villicana
