I like the photo a lot! I actually recently did a portrait of you with tissue paper... I thought it might be fun for you to see! If you'd like to, you can check it out here: http://emilyroseillustration.com/blog/?paged=8
Anyways. I love your work. Have a very happy Christmas!
Mr. Eric Carle, My family and I had the plesure of meeting you and Bobbi at Ron and Beth's tandoor party. My hopefully soon to be daughter in law, Eva, was so excited to get to know you and Bobbi. We were looking at your calender of tours. It doesn't look like Ohio is on your itenerary. We will be buying all of your books, having triplet and a singleton granddaughters under two. Would it be possible to send a copy of the Very Hungry Catapiller(or two or three) for an autograph? Happy to cover the shipping. Again, it was a wonderful night talking with you. Hopefully we will catch your tour someday. Fond Regards Lyn McClave
Happy New Year Mr. Carle! Our First Grade Class just wanted to write you a message and tell you how much we like your books. We just finished reading the story "The Very Hungry Caterpillar". We colored a page off of your website and took this home to retell the story to our family. After listening to several of your books we voted on our favorite. We chose "Draw Me a Star". Thank you for helping to make reading fun!

I LOVE your expressions of life! I couldn't think of a better, more simple way to express Happy Holidays...but you did it again. Thank you.
I work as a Behavioral Specialist with elementary school students who have severe emotional disabilities. I have used your books, so often; to help them see how good things come in steps. Your books highlight the positive side of working through those steps. Your colors help the children to remain attentive throughout the book. Many hearts have been uncovered through your books and I just thought you should know. When the children come to our school they typically have ice running through their veins. Through the work of many good people, and books like yours, the ice melts and we are able to find that tiny nugget of gold. Many times these children are able to develop into functional human beings. Thanks for all you do!!!
The Very Hungry Caterpillar is one of the more than 70 picture books that I have written and/or illustrated. I was born in the U.S. and was raised in Germany. My background is in graphic design but since the late 1960's when I illustrated Bill Martin Jr's Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? I have been creating books for children. My illustrations are collages made with my own hand-painted tissue papers, a technique many children have replicated and enjoyed in their classrooms and at home. With my late wife Barbara, I am also the cofounder of The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art in Amherst, MA.
Thank you! I hope your Holidays are wonderful too!
