Birthday gift

I have been enjoying my birthday week in Massachusetts, especially this past Saturday when it was such a gift to meet so many friends at my annual book signing at The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art. It gives me a hopeful feeling to see the families together and to meet the teachers and parents and grandparents. Thank you so much for coming all who were there - from near and far - I had a great time!

  1. Happy Birthday Mr. Carle!
Today my daughter turns ONE and she loves your books. Her face lights up when she hears "brown bear, brown bear..."

  3. Happy birthday, Mr. Carle. It was my birthday today, and I spent it with a friend PAINTING PAPERS. My art got launched because I simply began painting papers, then using them to "build" water colors. I taught my friend to explore art by using what I learned from your CD which I own.

We who have treasured your books and visited the museum know what a treasure YOU are, sir. All the best for many years to come.

  4. Happy Birthday Mr. Carle!

I shared my daughter's beautiful painted paper collage and caterpillar costume she made on my blog today in honor of your birthday. She dressed up as "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" and gave a biography report about you to her third grade class.

You are our favorite author and illustrator and have provided our family with so much entertainment, quality time together, and artistic exploration. Thank you for all of your inspiration. Wishing you a very happy birthday and many more to come!

Our family just celebrated my grandmother's 99th birthday a few weeks ago and we will be celebrating my other grandmother's 90th birthday this Wednesday. Here's to getting better with age!

    Love,
